Great experience at this little ski resort! Great experience! Stayed in a hotel room. It was very nice and clean. Ski school was wonderful for my teen beginner. She took a 2hr beginner private lesson and then we practiced for a day. She then took another 2hr private lesson with Tyrie and she was WONDERFUL!! Took my teen up the lifts and had her skiing down looking like a pro! My only complaint, and it's a big one.... is the snowboarders. Def the worst snowboarders I have seen at any resort in my 30+ years of skiing. They are completely out of control and have zero skill at boarding. There are no rules. A Colorado resort would revoke their passes for the things they do. Get the snowboarders under control and apply some rules and this place would be perfect!! The place does shut down when the lifts close and there is no place to eat. Taos is an easy 30minute drive as long as the weather is good. If it's snowing heavily, I would recommend having food in your room to eat for dinner!

Good beginner ski mountain but could use some improvements We stayed at a Riverside cabin for 3 days of skiing. Mountain: decent variety but small compared to more popular ones in the area and/or Colorado. Price was very affordable, good for families. All operators and employees were very friendly. No lines at all at the lifts. The rentals area took 45 min and could use more employees/facilities to flow traffic better. The kids took a lesson, and the instructors were friendly. The mountain could use a bunny hill that was more elevated so beginners can learn easier; as it stands, there is a very flat training area and then a steep magic carpet slope. Not too bad but others may struggle if new to the sport. Lodging: the Riverside cabins were old, and one of the heaters did not work (they supply space heaters.) It was cozy for our family of four. Hot water in the shower tended to run out so bathe fast. As it is a very isolated ski lodge, there is not many/any options for dinners unless you drive to Vadito or Taos. The on-site restaurants close at 5pm, which does not help people staying on-site. Also, there is no way to order food unless through an app, but the wifi died one of the nights, so...you see the predicament. Be prepared and bring lots of food and food prep materials if staying on-site. Besides this, management/front desk at times seemed flustered by customer complaints and asks. It was a fun first ski experience for the family with a few hiccups.

Disc Golf, Skiing and More in a Secluded Spot We visited in June of 2023 to play a round of disc golf. The course was technical and fun. Be prepared for 20 holes of vertical climbs or throws. Great pro shop with tons of branded gear including stickers for carts and cars. The river was moving quickly when we were there, which really added to the ambiance! Cannot wait to stay on site for our next trip. Will definitely be back in the winter for a day or two of skiing.

LOVELY WINTER FAMILY REUNION OUR FAMILY REUNION HAS BEEN AT SIPAPU SKI AREA EVERY YEAR FOR 17 YEARS. WE HAVE STAYED IN THE MOTEL, 1/2 OF A DUPLEX, THE FULL DUPLEX, AND THEN THE FAMILY GOT SO BIG WE HAVE STARTED STAYING IN THE LODGE FOR EVERY OTHER YEAR. IT IS THE BEST! BEDS ARE COMFORTABLE, KITCHEN IS BIG ENOUGH FOR US ALL TO EAT, PLAY, VISIT AND COOK BIG MEALS. 2 REFRIDGERATORS, 2 FULL OVENS AND LOTS OF DISHES AND COOKWARE. WE HAVE NEVER SEEN OR HEARD ANY FURRY CREATURES OR ANY CRAWLING ONES FOR THAT MATTER. THE STAFF IS TERRIFIC! TOWELS AND BEDDING VERY CLEAN, PILLOWS ARE GREAT. WE ALL LOVE SKIING, AGES 3 TO 70. IT IS A OLD SKI LODGE AND MAKES YOU REMEMBER WHAT YOUR GRANDFATHERS WOULD HAVE ENJOYED. BUT WITH SHOWERS AND TV'S , HEATERS AND WIFI. AFFORDABLE!

Great Stay during Winter Storm Nova Our stay at Sipapu was exceptional! We stayed two nights in a hotel room and two nights in the large duplex. Both were clean and cozy. A staff member met us at the duplex the night we checked in to ensure the heat was working to our satisfaction. All staff were extremely pleasant, helpful, and friendly. A maintenance supervisor (whose name I failed to get) overhead my husband worrying about our truck’s fuel due to the very cold temps and offered to get equipment and staff to help us if we needed it. You don’t find that sort of openness and generosity just anywhere. The drinks and food at the Riverside Cafe were great. Walking to the lift from the duplex was very easy. Complaints about this property have to be based on unrealistic expectations. The prices are affordable and, frankly, I would say underpriced for what you get. The skiing was super fun - there are plenty of options to keep skiers of all skill levels entertained. Will be back!
