Loud children everywhere Pros: extremely clean, excellent staff, great service, wonderful breakfast. Cons: screaming children everywhere, including the bar at night. Kids should not be allowed in a bar as their parents drink. Hard to have a quiet breakfast without loud children. This hotel is not the place to go if you want a quiet getaway with your partner.

So family friendly Sonnenalp was amazing. Every detail was so great - the included breakfast at Ludwig’s had everything we & our kids could dream of, even Nutella and all the fixins a pancake might need. The space is beautiful. Play in the pool, then splash in the creek, and very central to Vail Village. Bully Ranch mudslides are notable too! The best part of our trip was, when we got there, they had left a Sonnenalp teddy bear with the crib. We have two kids though so we went to buy another bear, and they weren’t available for sale, and the front desk etc couldn’t find another. About 24h later, a second bear was there greeting us in our room when we got back :) i don’t even know how they knew it was us asking for the bear — the service and how fast they get to know you is next level. Thank you, Sonnenalp! What a memorable family vacation.

Summer Relaxation In Vail As repeat guests for many years, we have come to value and appreciate our Sonnenalp experience. From our warm arrival at the valet and efficient check in, to a recently refreshed room, we couldn’t have been more happy with our 10 day stay. What’s so impressive with the Sonnenalp and their Staff is the ongoing attention to detail and the warmth and genuine feel of an authentic European resort. The hotel is beautifully situated by Gore Creek and the lovely breakfast each morning at Ludwig’s and afternoon relaxation by the pool and Creek, are transformative for one’s attitude. Whether you were a first time guest or a “repeat offender” as we are, you will fall in love with the Sonnenalp and Vail.

Perfection! I was at the Sonnenalp, Vail with my husband, but it was a work trip too. I loved my room and the whole experience. From the valets to the front desk, everyone was so kind and helpful. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived and I had to get to an event for work, Pamela at the front desk made arrangements so we had a place to land until our room was ready. That extra effort made all of the difference.

Fantastic First Time! We chose to stay at the Sonnenalp for our first trip to Vail. Everything from checkin, to the accommodations, restaurants, spa, pool and creek area, location, and staff, all exceeded our expectations. Upon arrival our room was not quite ready. We hit the town to get our bearings. After a quick lunch, our room was good to go. We reserved a lodgepole suite equipped with a jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace, and balcony. It was charming, comfortable and clean. While on property, we spent most of our time outside, either lounging by the pool, in the hot tub, or by the creek. It was incredibly relaxing and hard to imagine downtown Vail was only 100 yards away. I did get to spend a little time fishing and nabbed a 12 inch rainbow and 15 inch brown. Unfortunately we weren’t able to dine at any of the restaurants, but we did grab a cocktail at all three and all were excellent. Saturday night for us ended with live music at Ludwig’s and pretty much the whole hotel singing Get Together by The Youngbloods. It was a blast! Finally, we did head to the Sonnenalp Club outside of town for lunch. The food was awesome and it made me wish I brought my golf clubs and a swim suit. Seems like a top notch place. We had an incredible experience and look forward to returning. Prost!
