Fantastic except for food services. This would be a five star rating (and yes we’re coming back) if their restaurant, Lenora, was even “average”. I really think it just boiled down to staffing and training. People don’t know what they don’t know.

Not bad for a 2 star From the start, three people at the valet stand. When pulling up, I had to actually ask them if I were even to get a ticket for my car. It was as if I was bothering them to ask for a ticket for my car. No ticket was available. The front desk staff was quite busy in personal conversations, but eventually assisted us in checking in. In the morning, the coffee machine in the lobby is broken and the front desk person said they have no idea if and when it will get fixed. No alternatives. Unless you wanna wait for the restaurant to open. Upon check out, it was pretty much the same. It was a bother for us to check out and think that it would be a speedy process. We waited 10 minutes at seven in the morning to get our car brought around. The gambit bar bartenders were quite busy in their own personal discussions to assist us at the end of the bar, far end of the bar to place an order. After waiting for several minutes we simply left and when elsewhere.

Beautiful place. Poor communication. We arrived for our honeymoon on Friday the 26th of April. When I booked the hotel online I paid a deposit, in case something happened to where we would not be able to go. Upon check in, I told the gentlemen that I would be paying cash for the balance and would be happy to pay right then. He said that was unnecessary and that he would just need a credit card for the 150$ incidentals. Completely fine and normal as I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels. I told him that it would be a debit card and he said that is ok. Sunday morning I woke up to $1230 charge. I walked to the front desk to ask about it as I was not told that would be happening. The lady was nice but I left more confused than when I walked up. She said it was just a hold and would be back in my account 3-5 days after checkout. She also stated “we have people leave and not pay”. This put me in a bit of a situation as I had the money in my bank account to use for food and goods on the trip and brought the cash for the room. In my opinion this is completely unacceptable to charge that to a card without notifying the customer first. Especially when I offered to pay upon check in. I have never had this happen at any hotel. Also to note, as we were checking out on Tuesday we were talking to the gentlemen at the counter about where we should go for coffee as it is off season and the place we had been going to was closed. He told a few places to try. As we walked outside toward the bus stop he ran out after us and informed us we had $100 dollar food credit and that the hotel restaurant was open for breakfast. This had not been mentioned to us at all prior to this, which is very disappointing as we would have eaten there every morning. As far as the hotel stay goes - very very lovely place. Clean room and enjoyable walking around. Due to communication issues, I will not be returning.
