Perfect for Braves Spring Training and Venice This was a great hotel for going to Spring Training for the Braves! About a 15 minute drive with lots of good restaurants nearby. Pinchers was just across the road and we went two nights. Our window looked out on a pretty small lake with lots of trees around it. In front of the hotel was a small park and War Memorial. If you’re game the cross Florida hiking/bike trail is there as well for all the walking you care to do. Hotel had a good outdoor pool but while it was heated the weather was a bit cold. One night we watched the Kentucky/Detroit NCAA basketball game. Terrible outcome but the evening staff were great! Geo and Terry made sure we had a comfortable setting and even gave condolences for our loss. Breakfast was good but I would recommend doing away with the shaved beef and gravy. I didn’t see many people taking firsts let alone seconds.

Nothing to write home about for the price The lobby is under construction. There are less than 10 breakfast tables and two guys used one table to do their business/ laptop work while talking loudly - so, some guests had to sit outside on wet chairs. DO NOT get a room near the laundry chute (doors near elevators with no keyholes and not numbered) - the noise/ pounding might cause guests to jump out of their beds at all hours. The rooms were large, clean, quiet A/C, large LED TV with lots of channels, refrigerator/ microwave in room, good water pressure, quiet even-numbered rooms because they face a huge mud field view; decent breakfast (eggs, juices, waffles, cereal, coffee/ no cappuccino, muffins, yogurt, - no meats). Staff may direct guests to enter thru the back of hotel - but it involves appx 5+ steps. Woke up with aching back on bed/ lumpy? Seafood restaurant across the street; dr offices to the right i.e. Dr Anita Shane. Doors banging, but no bugs! They have no convenience store to buy anything after breakfast. I felt safe parking in the front of hotel.

Book a room elsewhere I simple cannot believe this hotel has any 5* reviews. Upon arrive the front desk employee told us it would be " a while" before he would have a room ready because they were fully booked the prior evening. there was zero conversation after that even though we sat in the lobby for a while...had a cup of coffee, used the bathrooms to change into beachwear and chatted. In all fairness we did arrive earlier than check in time, but here were NO cars in the parking lot!!! hummmm. As we sat in the lobby contemplated our next step we noticed that the place looked to be in need of a major facelift, also there were only 2 people to be seen on the property besides the man at the front desk. One of them was rather sketchy. We departed, never to return. It was a very strange experience and we never did see a room. If the front desk employee had at least given us a time frame for checking, or had been the friendly & accommodating in then maybe things would have been different.

Passing by for a one nighter Our room was not the best we’ve seen, this was like a rundown Hampton Inn. The Lounge and public areas were fine, but room wise it was a bit dated. I can say that next time I would look for a different property. Not sure how much traffic the get in this area, but for the price of the room, there are a few other options.

“ It is what it is” “It is what it is”, is what we were told when we let the lady at the front desk know that the pool and spa was dirty. I went to this hotel with my husband and my daughter. The same day we arrived we went to the pool which was very nasty, the was some nasty stuff on the step handles going into the pool and the was a lot of things in the pool. The spa had some drown slime going around the edge of it. My husband went to ask the lady at the front desk when will the pool get clean because it was like 110.degrees outside and my daughter wanted to cool off in it. The lady at the desk come out side to the pool, looked at it and said “ it’s Florida it is what it is”. Now we are guest spending our hard working money to say at your hotel we really don’t want to hear it is what it is. I went to the front desk and in conversation I told the manager I could sleep in my car for this kind of treatment and he offered to cancel my reservation without any charge and we could leave. So we left because I felt that he could have done something else for us then just letting a family of three with no where else to go leave. It messed up the only vacation we could have afford for the summer. After driving around for hours we had to pay more money to stay some where else.
