View is worth the price - not necessarily the hotel itself. Beautiful view of the ocean, however lots of weird things at this hotel. The parking situation here is frustrating. Spaces were small, so if you have a large vehicle it will/might get dinged. The hotel shares the parking spots with the restaurant. If you check in at dinner time, you most likely will not find a spot to park. Upon check in, we waited quite a while (15 minutes) for someone to yell out, "I'll be with you in a minute". Friendly staff, but there was a sign at the front multiple times during the day "Sorry, we will be right back, on a break". Many times, you could not find the front desk staff. Breakfast was continental and average. Coffee was good... Rooms were small, but clean. Shower would always change from extremely hot to instant cold. Housekeeping staff was nice and friendly. Just know going in, you're paying for the location...

Very Poor State Very poor condition - read the review about the two chairs (they are there when you arrive at the hotel and not worth more than $10 !!). The room was barely acceptable, however note the (1970's shower and mold, mold around window, broken slat on window blind, dresser drawer very poor and missing a knob !!, wall picture had been taken down to have the TV in its place however the big picture hanging screw was not removed (yuck!). What I find unacceptable and a probably violation of state fire codes is the smoke detector without a cover in the breakfast room. BTW, breakfast v basic (could have been bought at KMart!!), what could have been a lovely view to the pool was obstructed by 3 pool heaters!! Obviously this used to be a nice hotel but someone who had a brilliant idea to build it must be no longer and whoever owns it does not want to invest one penny!. Ridiculous!

Coastal Gem! What a beautiful beach hotel! Was only here for one night, but definitely want to go back longer! Every room has a beautiful ocean view and hearing the waves crashing at night with window open was a nice bonus! Slept like a baby! The property is well kept and very clean. We arrived late due to weather, but the front desk receptionist texted me to give instructions on our arrival. Very friendly & helpful! The hotel is right off the freeway, so easy to find. Our room was cozy and had nice amenities. The morning breakfast room had a variety of items to choose from and sitting outside with a beautiful CA coastal view was a perfect way to begin our day! Loved this property!

Worth it for the location Driven by this place a million times and finally decided to stay. Great location, and even the Hwy 1 road noise isn't really an issue. The place is showing its age a bit, and the rooms could use a refresh. Restaurant on site ... included breakfast was ok. Had dinner there once of the four nights we stayed ... wasn't compelling enough to repeat. There's a "pier" and artificial island next to the property. It's not possible to go onto it, but it would have been nice to have some information about it.

Impressive It's situated a little out of the way - but WELL WORTH THE EFFORT TO STAY HERE. The rooms although old are updated and VERY nice - clean - comfortable and most of all QUIET The views are absolutely STUNNING - the restaurant has seating next to the pool and allows unobstructed views of the ocean. No kids running around - other guest were pleasant - just an all around nice stay. It made my business trip to Carpinteria and Santa Barbara a joy instead of work. I WILL be staying here again and again.
