All around Great stay and location I stayed here on and off during May and June 2024. I do not write reviews very often however thinking back to my stays I found the staff and Manager Bernadette to be Outstanding! For a comfort Inn the property is on the smaller size. Right off of the freeway I never heard any traffic during my stays. A great location in Ventura . A couple of blocks from the beach and a block or two from main avenues to anywhere in the area. Short or extended stays, this location is the perfect place. The staff called me by my name after the first night, friendly yet professional. Laundry room is a great addition. Thank you to the great memorable staff at this location. Looking forward to my next stay _

Better than expected, but quite pricey for a low end hotel The friendly staff made check-in a breeze! All hotels should be this efficient. The hallways are dark & unwelcoming. Though the room was over all dimly lit, it was spacious, seemingly clean, and well enough appointed. The bed was very comfortable with nicely soft sheets. Each nightstand had power outlets--perfect for two people to charge devices at bedside. There was a coffeemaker and mini fridge in the room. The bathroom had no visible mold (good job, housekeeping!) but it sure smelled moldy (yuck). There were plenty of towels, which was nice, but they smelled of perfumey detergent--yuck, just go fragrance-free. The shower water pressure was good. The toilet was low to the ground--not ideal for tall people. Unfortunately, a "do not disturb" sign was nowhere to be found so housekeeping started knocking on the door at 8:45 a.m. and continued to do so throughout the morning even after we'd explained that we'd leave by their published 11:00 checkout. Rather annoying when two people are trying to get it together to checkout. The free WiFi worked fine. The free parking was nice but filled up quickly. We typically avoid low end Comfort Inns but this one was moderately acceptable. The hotel has plans to remodel, so maybe it will be improved.

Indifferent I booked two rooms at the last minute via Expedia for July 2nd, or so I thought! Expedia gave me the rates and availability for the 3rd, NOT the night I requested! After confirming and paying the non-refundable payment (thinking I was booking for the 2nd) and driving within minutes after booking to the Comfort Inn and Suites Ventura, they informed us we did not have reservations until the following night and they had no availability for the 2nd. I called and asked Expedia to cancel the reservation and refund the money while I tried to find another hotel. They told me they could only do that if Comfort would allow the refund. They did not. Why would they - they got their money. I realize it was listed as non-refundable, but I’ve had two non-refundable payments from other hotels in the past, happily refunded by the hotel without an issue. I’m done with Comfort Inn and I’m done with Expedia/Hotels.com. Luckily, we did find another hotel in the old town area. I told the woman at the front desk my story and she told me this happens with Expedia all the time. Beware! That lesson cost me almost $400!

Not up to par for the price. Staff was good for the most part. AC would go out intermittently in the middle of the night, every night, and sounded like a turn signal clicking on and off loudly, sweating in bed does not make for a good night sleep. They have signs posted about current renovations, room 110 that I was in, definitely hadn't been renovated, very dated, furniture was pretty old and beat up. Bathroom was a bit dingy and had rust on the towel and tissue holders. There was women's makeup on one of the pillow cases. "Continental Breakfast" was a brown bag with a Jimmy Dean microwavable breakfast biscuit, juice, a small pastry, and a granola bar, the other option they offered was a voucher to walk down the street to Der Wienerschnitzel. I got to the hotel early to see if I could check in before 3pm, I was told there would be a $50 early check in fee, I declined and left my number, they called me a couple hours later and let me check in without the fee. Would I stay here again, definitely not for the cost of the room.

Clean, economical and friendly environment This hotel was perfect for our overnight stay. It is located right off the highway however our room faced the street so traffic noise was minimized. The front desk was busy as we arrived and the attendant was hospitably helping a guest with dining recommendations. Another attendant came out and acknowledged our delay by upgrading our room. The room was awesome! It had a sitting area with a sofa, chair and fireplace, a small dining table, microwave, refrigerator and two separate Queen bedrooms. We truly enjoyed the fireplace. The rooms and the bathroom were extremely clean and well appointed. The lobby is very basic and currently they only have a grab and go breakfast offering or a voucher for the Weiner Schnitzel next door. Renovations are being done to expand their lobby and common area for breakfast onsite. The hotel is close to a variety of restaurant options and you can easily walk to the little area of bars and restaurants on Seaward Ave. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We will stay again on our way through that area.
