This relates to the Spa only I was at Amatista for the first time a few weeks ago after visiting Sante Spa many times in the past. I had heard there were extensive renovations and have to say I could not have been more disappointed. The women’s change room remains “gang” change style, never have I encountered this group change situation set up at an upper scale spa. The showers are the same with ill fitting plastic shower curtains with no private changing space in them, just hop out into another group style area when done. One private changing room for the entire area where a small bathroom once was, quite unbelievable really. Using COVID as an excuse for the completely deprived lounge area situation was also puzzling. Warm bottles of water (being placed on ice in the summer would have been a simple, inexpensive, thoughtful, and much appreciated touch) and that’s it, does not approach a luxury spa day in my experience. Maybe chilled high-end waters, even some different flavours, and some individually wrapped snacks (organic trail mix, dark chocolate, organic apples for example) would have enhanced the experience. Back to the spa itself. It looks like the mineral pool got a much-needed scrub but that was about it. Same is true of the sauna and steam room but both (out of use due to the pandemic) were still dated, unclean feeling, and unwelcoming. I have recently been to Tigh Na Mara and Kingfisher Spas, whoever is managing Amatista would be well-advised to pay them a visit. They offer a much more thoughtful, generous, and pampering spa experience by a giant margin (although your bathrobes rock and definitely win in that category). Happily my masseuse, Katie, was wonderful and saved the day. I was truly hoping for something a little more upscale for our Bear Mountain community. At the moment, I sadly won’t be recommending your spa to friends or family.

Enjoyable stay and nice resort Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay, as we were upgraded to a suite that looked upon the beautiful rear grounds and golf course. Balcony was large, comfortable, and peaceful especially in the evenings. Common areas are nice and give a club house vibe Room itself was very well equipped with everything you might need including a kitchen and decent sized fridge to store cold drinks etc. Lots of storage and closet space, and master bath had a nice rain shower, as well as separate bath tub. Heavenly bed offered good nights' rest and bedroom had a large 70 inch tv as an added bonus. Suite was spacious and did I say we loved the patio? Accessible from living room or bedroom. As Bonvoy elites, we were satisfied with our overall treatment ; and we thought the Fira lounge breakfast and food quality was quite good. Will plan on returning again soon, and really believe it's the place to stay for a round of golf

A MUST Hotel To Visit…!!! _____ As someone who typically travels over 150 nights/year (pre pandemic), I tend to be a tad spoiled when it comes to hotel expectations and to that point am happy to say the folks at this property raise the bar each and every time I visit. They are always so very customer centric, accommodating in anyway they can and so super nice making the stay here awesome every time to date! Alexandra the front desk manager along with her colleague Tracy are so accommodating and supportive that they treat you like family. The rooms are beautiful, the views (golf side) are spectacular and the amenities (golfing, fitness, trails etc) are so outstanding! Let’s not forget the delicious cuisine offered at their Fire Pit restaurant (the other is undergoing renovations) and Jack’s across the street of the front entrance offers great cuisine as well. This is an absolute must visit property if you’re in Victoria!!! ____

Nice resort but noisy at night There are so many wonderful things about this resort. My husband and I wanted a getaway to start the golf season. We played both courses, the Mountain and the Valley and the conditions were fine for early season play. We came to the resort at the start of BC’s closure of restaurants (again). Very grateful to have the large suite with a full kitchen. The rooms and lobby were very clean and the staff very accommodating and friendly. The bed was comfortable and even the linens smelled nice. My only issue is the at if you are a light sleeper or tend to wake up in the middle of the night. There was a sporadic banging about once a minute that sounded like some metal flexing or grinding. It was constant and very annoying and made it difficult to get back to sleep. I’ve never heard anything like this in the numerous hotels we have been in. We were in room 448 which overlooked the parking lot and was above the main entrance. It was close to the elevator. Although there was construction during the time we were there, I’m not convinced this noise was related to the construction
