MANSION HOUSE INN AND SPA

Another amazing stay! Amazing hotel & staff! Another amazing stay! We’ve been coming to the Mansion House for over 10 years, and it continues to exceed expectations, consistently maintaining 5 star hospitality! The staff is always so friendly and accommodating, offering not only their tips and tricks, but will go above and beyond to ensure you get the most out of your Vineyard experience.  Josh is always so welcoming and treats us like family and introduces us to any new staff members, as well as keeping us updated to any new, exciting must visits on the island. The building itself is extremely charming, clean, and updated, which are key things that really drew us in years ago.  They also do a wonderful job showcasing the history of the area with old photos, and original artifacts displayed beautifully, and tastefully throughout each floor.  We take a step back in time, every trip, by walking each floor and trying to immerse ourselves in the precious moments captured in the original photos.  It's an experience like no other, transporting yourself temporarily, and then being right back in the freshly, well appointed halls of the timeless Mansion House. Our favorite part is the rooms, though, I must say.  We've been fortunate over the years, with so many wonderful night stays, that we've had the opportunity to enjoy so many different room accommodations at Mansion House.  Every room has its own unique detail, layout, views, comfortable inviting ambiance and upscale charm.  They're all so cozy, tidy, light and bright that it really sets the tone for our stay on this cherished magical island.  We certainly have our favorite rooms too! Another plus, is being in the quaint town of Vineyard Haven with many shops and restaurants just outside the hotel.  It’s in the most convenient location as the ferry is literally steps away, with ample parking nearby provided by the hotel for our rental vehicle. Every time we stay, we can’t wait to go back, and we are thrilled to be back again in a couple of weeks. This is a hotel that year after year continues to be our “home away from home” and we recommend the Mansion House first to family and friends, as our favorite place to stay. Bonus tip: Take in the breathtaking views of the ocean from the Cupola, and set aside some time to relax or have your coffee/snacks/lunch up there. It is not be missed!

Wrong room,no price adjustment Paid for an ocean view room, got a city view room ( that looked nothing like the picture of the ocean view room). Asked them to adjust the bill (city view was about $100 less per night). They refused! I reached out when we were there and the man at the desk said he’d look into adjusting the bill. I asked the next day and they knew nothing about it. When I got i called and wrote, no response .Very poor customer service!!! While I’m at it, they ran out of milk and coffee for breakfast the second day! They said they were waiting for a delivery !!!!

Best of Vineyard Haven Incredible communication. Amenable to our constantly changing schedule, guest list, and changes in plans. We've been staying here for the last few years during the Vineyard Cup Regatta and wouldn't look for anywhere else to stay. The best of Vineyard Haven!

Loved it Great place even greater Staff. Loved it. Gym is amazing which was important to me. Very clean and cooled down at this hot days. Close to the ferry. Quite area and on a 10-15 min to each other town. There is restaurant next to the hotel which is also great

Swimmer's Choice If like my wife you're a dedicated lap swimmer and can afford the tariff, there really is no alternative in Vineyard lodging. The inn has its own parking lot, although it's a short walk down concrete steps a few doors down from the entrance. (A bit daunting if you're traveling with more than carryon luggage; if you can, snaring an early-morning angle-parking space across from the inn on the day of departure will make the loading process a lot easier.) If the website touts the complimentary cold breakfast buffet (beverages, cereal, yogurt, cello-wrapped muffins), I missed it; it was a pleasant surprise. If I had one recommendation for an improvement, it would be to add a laundry room for guests' use. I was surprised that no dry cleaning services are offered, but there's at least one commercial place no far up the state road. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful and there's an elevator. And while there are not many eateries in Vineyard Haven (a new restaurant is supposed to open soon next door), the inn is only a short walk from the fabled Black Dog Tavern. A nearby Stop & Shop supermarket is a good place for sundries and scoring a New York Times.
