Wonderful hotel…10 out of 10! The entire staff made us feel so welcomed! It is a smaller property which we loved. We enjoyed the included activities like the outrigger excursion. 10 out of 10! The photo session was run perfectly for our sunset portraits. They came beautiful. We can’t say enough good things about the staff poolside also.

$1100/night prison in room 125 I was very excited about this trip. Our original was scheduled for 9 months ago, but just before the trip, I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. At that time I thought I would never visit Hawaii again. But luckily my cancer was slow growing, so I set up the trip for October. Previously we stayed in Wailea multiple times and each time we stayed in the Marriott nearby. This time we had some Hyatt points so we decided to try this place. This would be our most expensive hotel stay ever, since the prices during the time I booked was around $1100 per night. But then the major disappointment started. We were given room 125. Its view is the side of the outside stairs leading up to the pools. It is a very high traffic area, so you cannot even open the blinds in your room. So basically you are in a prison. A $1100 per night prison! I wish our bad luck ended there. On our last night when we came to the room, we were welcomed by a giant cockroach which casually walked and went under the bed. To their credit, someone came immediately and searched for it with no luck. They moved us to another room. You would think “lucky you are that you moved out of prison”. Unfortunately not. Packing everything up and moving to another room, just one night before checkout was very difficult for us, especially for me who is under chemo, which causes extreme fatigue. And one last thing. I had a first in my 54 year old life: I was about 2 feet away from a cute little mouse! On the second day we went to the pool area to ask for beach towels. A worker there was just bringing a cart full of towels. You might know those carts: They have small recesses outside of that giant cart, and one cute little mouse, probably terrified, was in one of the recesses. I did not notice it until I was almost 2 feet away. Unfortunately my cell phone was not near me so I could not take a picture. But lots of people in the pool area saw it, and most of them, including us, just laughed it off. The mouse was indeed cute, but this was the first time I saw a mouse in a hotel. Note that neither the cockroach or the mouse was really the culprit for this hotel. This is Hawaii, just like Texas we live in, roaches are part of the life. The thing that left us very upset is that although the hotel had lots of rooms, they put us in the worst room because they were expecting us to pay more after paying $1100 worth of points. I don't think anything will change for this hotel after my review, but I will never ever go back to this hotel, even if I have a million Hyatt points. My cancer may not allow any other Hawaii trip anyway, so spending my possibly last Hawaii vacation in this prison was a very unfortunate event. I'd definitely recommend the Marriott nextdoor because: 1-They always upgraded us to a better room when available. Going to Hawaii is a one-time experience for most people. Why put people in prison just because of trying to squeeze out the last penny of them. 2-It is very close to Shops at Wailea, where you can find tons of food options. 3-You have the option of either going to Wailea beach or Ulua beach there. If you are a snorkeler like us, you can even snorkel all the way from Wailea Beach to Ulua Beach. 4-Marriott has much bigger ocean-front grounds. In fact, we spent most of our early mornings and late evenings at Marriott. 5-The lobby of Marriott is a million times more beautiful than this prison wanna-be hotel. In fact, I think that is one of the most beautiful lobbies in the world. 6-The restaurant options of Marriott for lunch are much cheaper than Hyatt. Dinner prices are comparable though. So is there anything good to say about Hyatt? Probably the only thing we liked was the availability of the beach chairs in the Mokapu beach. Unfortunately Marriott’s beach chairs are in Wailea beach only (not on Ulua Beach).

Amazing time at the Andaz! 10/10 experience! The picture cannot do it justice. The views, the staff, the food (excellent buffet breakfast!) the experiences (kayaking with sea turtles and whales!), and having an incredible luau to attend right on our front lawn… do not skip out on this resort!

Andaz is the best - amazing experience -- look no further!! I highly recommend the Andaz for any occasion. We went for our babymoon and we had the best time. Upon arrival, you are warmly greeted and provided with a lei! Our room had a lovely view facing the ocean and the perfect location to watch every sunset. We took advantage of the activities including bamboo making, lei making, bingo, and the water activities. The breakfast buffet was incredible, everything was included from fresh juices and fruit, to savory items, fresh omelettes, oatmeal, yogurt, bagels, pastries and more! Each restaurant in the resort is great. At any point in time, we tried their breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food always tasted so fresh. There wasn't one bad meal. The ahi tuna poke I want to particularly call out for its beautiful presentation. I also had the opportunity to have a prenatal massage at the Spa and the staff made me feel so comfortable and answered any questions I had. Speaking of staff, the staff is extremely friendly and just wants to make sure you have a great stay. The concierge is very helpful in planning out our activities and restaurant recommendations. We also loved our photo session through Pacific Dream Photography that you can do through the hotel. They captured such wonderful photos to remember our babymoon. Thank you for such a special week and we can't wait to be back!

Nice but Dense Beautiful modern hotel in Wailea. Nice entry and lobby, with expansive views of the grounds. Although rooms are small, they are expertly laid out to take advantage of every inch. But still very small for Maui and you feel cramped. Had an ocean view room which was nice with small but nice deck with decent view. Grounds are beautiful although really dense as the buildings are packed in. There are several pool areas, but again really packed in. Really enjoyed the morning yoga class as it’s done on a nice grassy area next to the ocean.
