AUSTRIA TREND SALZBURG WEST

Overnight stay for convenience After spending a few days skiing in Kitzbuhel we decided that it would be easier to be back near the airport for an early flight home so booked an overnight stay. Wasn't disappointed at all ! Lovely airport hotel in a great and convenient location with the Shopping Outlet right behind the hotel. Clean and comfortable room with Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room. We even received a FREE drink at the bar. Buffet Breakfast was excellent and included in the tariff we paid. All in all a very good hotel and wouldn't hesitate staying here again if necessary.

Unfriendly staff and outdated rooms The hotel actually is an airport (or shopping mall) hotel far from any restaurant or other interesting spots. Therefore it attracts Chinese tour groups who - for ever reason - love to stay in airport hotels all over Europe. It formerly was a Radisson Hotel but due to the yearly decay it was downgraded to an Austria Trend Hotel. Don't take me wrong, everything is in working order and in an acceptable shape however the whole appearance is 1980s style. The check-in staff however is pretty unfriendly and the shuttle bus driver tops it all. Although the drive to the airport is less than 5 minutes we waited for almost an hour for the shuttle being told "it is on the way" every time we inquired of its whereabouts. The driver, some guy from Afghanistan or Pakistan, goes about his own ways...

Chance stay Our flight back to the UK from Salzburg Airport was cancelled due to high winds. So our airline easyJet put us up over night in the Hotel Salzburg West. It is very close to the Airport, but backs onto a shopping plaza and many bars. The location for one nights stay was excellent. The check in was smooth, we were given three very nice spacious double rooms, with comfy beds and blackout curtains. The hotel was very spacious, and fairly busy, but there was very little noise. The next morning we had a wonderful buffet breakfast, with a superb choice. On checkout we had to make our way to Salzburg railway station to get the train to Munich airport to catch an alternative flight home. The man on the reception desk was most helpful and kindly got one of the hotel staff to drive all six of us with luggage and skis in the hotel mini bus to the railway station. It was a very kind gesture and we can’t thank the hotel receptionist and his colleague enough for helping us get home. All in all, a lovely hotel with exceptional staff, and one we will certainly use again should we find ourselves in Salzburg in the future.

Pretty good Had to stay there to get an early flight. Dinner might be a bit expensive compared to local eateries but...portions are good and well made! The flight was delayed after I checked out so I called the hotel to get back in, no problem at all. Breakfast is very good, they have real coffee! Room size is good, service is good!

Nice The hotel is nice. Very clean and comfortable. The first room at every floor are quite large. No view bur very convinience to the designer outlet. Connect with the hotel. Nice lobby but there are some step at the elevaror foyer
