Washington Plaza Hotel

Fantastic Location, pool and service!! The Washington plaza is an old hotel. The pictures online do not reflect the actual condition of the hotel. It is a bit outdated. Upon check in I did not receive a warm friendly welcome from Khoran. For some odd reason, when I handed him my credit card and ID, he placed them on the countertop instead of handing them back to me. Seeing as though I placed my cards in his hand, I thought that wasn't polite. He also assigned us a handicap accessible room. Which was odd because the hotel was not busy so I'm sure they had plenty of standard rooms. I went back down stairs and Rachel reassigned us to the proper room without hesitation. We had a standard queen room with a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was exceptionally clean, but the room was outdated. We decided to hangout at the pool. Upon entry, the Lifeguard immediately asked me for my room number which was fine. I appreciated the fact that the pool is exclusive to hotel guests. We were able to secure two lounge chairs and an umbrella, the hotel provided us with towels as well. We went to the fabulous outdoor bar and ordered drinks and food. The food was delivered to us poolside. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious! Our drinks were made perfectly so we enjoyed multiple rounds. We loved the bartenders. They were really friendly and the service was fantastic!! I hate that I do not remember their names but one was Asian and the other was Guyanese. Sorry ladies lol!! We also enjoyed brunch. The service was good and the food was delicious. Overall this was a great stay. Once we got over the aesthetics of the hotel. The Fantastic location ,cleanliness, delicious food, great service, and the pool truly made this stay worthwhile.

A Hidden Gem in DC with Exceptional Service and Pool! As a solo traveler from New York City, I stayed at the Washington Plaza Hotel for one night in July 2024-it exceeded my expectations. The staff's kindness and hospitality stood out. Front Office Manager Treasure was incredibly welcoming. She made me feel at home and explained everything about the hotel and area, which was very helpful. Her graciousness and attention to detail enhanced my stay. Zion was also wonderful, taking great care of my luggage both when I arrived and when I checked out. She ensured my belongings were safe for many hours each day. The hotel, a bit dated, has a fun 60s retro vibe. The bed cozy and great water pressure. I've stayed in many DC hotels where the staff can be unwelcoming, but here I felt welcome. The standout feature was the pool area. It's a huge, beautiful retreat in the middle of Washington, DC. Surrounded by buildings, it feels like a hidden oasis. The pool is spacious with plenty of room for everyone, and I loved that you could have drinks and food served poolside. The bar and restaurant by the pool added a delightful touch, making it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. For anyone visiting DC, especially during the warmer months, this hotel is an incredible option. The rates are reasonable, and you're right in the middle of DC, just a few minutes from everything. I can't recommend the Washington Plaza Hotel enough and look forward to staying here again, largely due to the exceptional hospitality from Treasure & Zion.

Thank you, Nehema! Nehema was wonderful. She gave me a beautiful room and she was so welcoming and kind that I felt instantly at home. The facility was easy to navigate with spacious lobby areas and a delightful pool bar. I would happily stay here again, particularly because of my interaction with the front desk staff, Ms. Nehema.

Excellent from check in to check out. From the moment we checked in ( early check in) to the moment we checked out it was fantastic. The room was large including bathroom and very clean. The restaurant food and service was excellent including take out to room. The staff was amazing from the front desk to restaurant staff to door man would rate them a 5 out if 5. Book your stay here you won’t be disappointed.
