An Experience of a Lifetime! We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary here with our 3 children and their spouses. I cannot begin to describe this wonderful experience. Everything was perfect......the food presentation outstanding, the service, impeccable, and the furnishings, elegant. It will be a night we’ll remember the rest of our lives!

Overnight stay Our room at the Inn was very nice, the room was lovely and the special touches were exceptional. Afternoon tea and breakfast very good. On arrival there was a bottle of champagne, truffles and a beautiful flower arrangement, that I thought was from the Inn. However, it wasn't until we left to go home, that my daughter asked me if we enjoyed the gifts. I was stunned!!!! She informed me that the gifts were from her and my son, for my birthday. The Inn failed to provide the note from my kids. This was very upsetting and totally soured my stay at the Inn. I called and complained and all the clerk said was sorry someone dropped the ball!

A wonderful stay1 We recently spent 2 nights in the Alice Waters suite at IALW. From beginning to end we were well looked after - from the welcome cocktail, afternoon tea, treats in our room, and lovely breakfast, to the very personalized service throughout our stay. No detail was overlooked! The suite is absolutely lovely with second floor bedroom, enormous bathroom, balcony, and widow's walk, however it is up several flights of stairs (with a second floor bedroom) so anyone requiring a room on the first floor should perhaps choose another. The grounds and gardens around the Inn are beautiful and make for a very nice walk. The gift shop across the street is also well worth a browse, and sells many of the teas offered at the afternoon tea service, so if you find a favorite you can likely find it there. This was our first visit but surely won't be our last.

Fantastic...but My wife and I have been going to the Inn a few times each year for a number of years. The Inn experience started out as a love affair but has unfortunately grown stale over time. For example, we ate there in Dec 2020 and the menu still remains the same. One of the amuse bouche item (Carpaccio of Herb-Crusted Elysian Fields Baby Lamb Loin) has been on the menu for years. Likewise, the deserts which used to dazzle with the likes of "Seven Deadly Sins", ice cream, apple pie, etc, are now just two items. These two desert items have also been on the menu way too long. Finally, the establishment also needs updating. The furniture and textiles are showing more than a little signs of wear and tear. Time for Chef Patrick to stretch his cooking legs and spritz up the place.

Once in a Lifetime.... Words can't describe the peaceful and zen like feeling once you arrive here. My dear husband arranged our stay for my daughter and my 40/70 birthdays. We stayed in the Julia Child suite (both big fans) and everything was impeccable. Suffice it to say I cried at the beautiful touches, thoughtful things to make this stay perfect. The greeting cocktail in the Monkey bar, the afternoon tea, with truly the best teas I've ever had....the delights to go with it....then two balconies in our room. The meal was just beyond one's imagination. The staff in every way was unobtrusive but never missed getting us anything that was needed. Its a warm and not stuffy place. Thank you for this gem of a place,
