Junk fees on top of junk fees when you checkout I want to preface that this hotel is nice and the staff is friendly. But that doesn't negate the fact that this hotel WILL charge you a ridiculous amount of junk fees when you checkout. I paid an additional $200 in junk fees for 3 nights on top of normal room rate and $70 per day to park (also excessive). I cannot in good faith give any higher than 1 star due to lack of transparency.

Best way to describe is random. One of the most bizarre experiences anywhere in the world. The hotel is more concerned with style over substance and doesn’t get style quite right either. It’s tired and needs a little love. You can see what it WANTS to be, but it misses the mark by a mile. The font desk service isn’t warm and friendly and neither is the Riot House restaurant / market. The staff seem jaded and over it. Our breakfast order was incorrect, i received my breakfast and my husband’s didn’t arrive at all. We had to ask for it to discover it was missed. I was yelled at by Rene one morning when asking for hot water for a tea - a first experience in a hotel as a guest. I was torn between amazement and fury. He refused to hear what I was needing help with and kept shouting we are not open go away (!!!!). He told me to go to the front desk who initially were away temporarily and then were back didn’t want to help me either, only after saying “ you have to be joking - it cannot be this hard” did someone help. Ironically, there’s a sign in the elevator saying text us we want your stay to be stress free. The same sign isn’t in the room which says a lot about how interested they are in a visit being stress free. When you do text they’re not overjoyed to hear from you. There’s free coffee in the lobby from 6-9 which is great for coffee lovers but if you dont drink it you’re stuffed because there’s no kettle in the rooms. There are free snacks which is a nice touch. The rooms are noisy due to location on sunset strip and i loved the touch of giving earplugs BUT only one set - weird when there are multiple occupants in a room. Saul who works in the market was a sweetheart. Really kind, warm and professional. I saw him navigate a few tricky situations and he navigated them in a customer centric way. The rooms are bit awkward and tired and stink of bleach cleaners. There’s a sign on the back of the door that says do not leave valuables in the room safe, take them to the hotel vault. We had a large sum of cash so went to the front desk to do as the sign says only to discover there are no keys for the vaults anymore and the sign is out of date. Loved the water filling station on each floor but there was nothing to fill water with, so had to go back to reception hunting for a vessel. Over all, the service left so much to be desired, we are pretty relaxed but it left us with such a bad experience we cancelled the second stay at the end of the trip and have booked somewhere else at 3 x the price instead. We booked on a recommendation and can’t recommend it unfortunately. Hyatt needs to do a few mystery visits with exec management to stick a rocket up them.

Very nice hotel Clean, nice and everything was as expected from a Hyatt. Good location. Dining options in hotel were limited but hotel is not far from numerous options.

This place has tanked in the past decade. No coffee makers and limited coffee in the morning for a couple of hours. This experience was terrible! The staff were not helpful. Coffee is limited to a couple of hours in the morning. The front staff told me and others we could go to Starbucks that was 0.5 miles away. The hotel music was terrible and too loud. No quiet areas to relax without it blaring. The pool towels are limited and none by the end of the day. High price and low services that they charge 37 dollars per person. Choose another option.

Not ideal for families Beware if travelling with children. Despite booking a two bed room specifically it was not available on check in and we were pushed to take a king room with a trundle bed. We had to be pushy to get the type of room we booked and had to move rooms after one night. The only compensation we received was the destination fee being waived. Then to compound the anti family atmosphere on the Sunday the roof pool was being used for a 21+ party. Alternative pools locally were made available but that wasn’t made clear at booking that we wouldn’t be able to use the pool area with our 12 year old daughter. When we did use it in the morning we shared it with people setting up the lighting and sound system. That was two nights of our three night stay. I won’t be coming back, despite having family in LA.
