Port Royal ~ Never want to leave! The ocean front corner room with two balconies is such a delight. Ocean breeze all day long from either direction is so peaceful to listen to. Staff always so nice ~ love coming back every year. The food at the Royal Grill never disappoints ~ and being able to eat inside or outside is terrific.

What renovations? They’ve supposedly done renovations on the rooms but ours must have been skipped. There was still some trash and the bathroom was incredibly old with some of the tiles cracked. The AC was very loud and didn’t do a great job cooling off the room (how is there no fan option for the AC???). Breakfast was average but the restaurant was closed for dinner two nights out of the four we were there so I can’t speak to that.
The pool and cabana section is very nice though and it is in a great location

No AC and reeks of pot! Room wouldn’t go below 77 degrees. Staff said we shouldn’t have the drapes open. Only open them at night. AC is old and can’t keep up anymore. Why pay for ocean view if you can’t view the ocean!
The pot smell was so strong we had to leave the floor. Staff brought us a fan. ? Property is no smoking but staff said they can’t do anything if someone does. Sleeping in Lobby tonight. Let’s see who gets in trouble first. The pot smokers or me sleeping in the lobby because staff won’t do anything or even move us to another room.

LOUD MOB HAS TAKEN OVER THIS HOTEL. IF YOU WANT PEACE, GO ELSEWHERE!!! This will be our family's last visit to Port Royal. A MOB OF LOUD PEOPLE TAKE OVER THE LOBBY, RESERVE ALL THE CHAIRS AT THE POOL at 7:30 AM!. They are like a swarm, they are one big, loud, nasty group that has TAKEN OVER THIS HOTEL!! You cannot find a peaceful place to even sit in this hotel! STEER CLEAR! They sit in the lobby EVERY NIGHT until 11:30 PM taking up EVERY SEAT, talking so loud you cannot even think!! There is NOPLACE a family can go in this hotel to avoid them. They are rude, selfish and classless. They take up the ENTIRE pool every day! If you want to spend a quiet time with your family, this is NOT the hotel for you!
