Food was just average. We Dined with Friends during the Easter event. The group was choosing between Fairmont or Fort garry, We wanted to try something new for easter brunch so we went with the latter. For the price of it we were expecting something special. Food is just “meh” it was just average to say the least.

Gorgeous, Generous, and Grand A nicely located hotel in Winnipeg to make memories! The professional staff complemented this gorgeous property, equipped with ballrooms, restaurants, a spa, parking, and plenty to do within walking distance. Two weddings took place in the hotel during our Saturday night stay, providing some fun people & event watching throughout our day but also some excessive noise in the room (away from the event) next to us at night. The staff and management obviously had been notified already by other guests when we called and professionally dealt with the situation. Due to this later in the night disturbance, Fort Garry Hotel generously comp'ed our room, which was a surprise and a testament to their dedication to excellence. Thank you Fort Garry Hotel for a grand experience!!

Historical but not old I really enjoyed my stay here! The hotel feels historical but modern and my room felt very luxurious. I found the hotel to be well-located as I was able to walk to the archives. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Despite how busy the hotel was, it was quiet. I will definitely stay here again when I return to the city!

I want to go again! I chose this hotel for its location, walking distance to the train station, the Museum for Human Rights, and The Forks Market and National Historic Site. It was my first visit to Winnipeg and when I go again I will definitely stay here. The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. The hotel has the ambience you might expect in a railway hotel built in 1913 and the restorations are wonderful. Since I was walking with a cane, I really appreciated the size of the hotel, that the front desk, the elevators, and the dining room were all on one level off a beautiful lobby, and there was an accessible side entrance to the lobby as well. I was uncertain how I would manage my last day when I checked out and had 12 hours before my train but the hotel staff made it no problem at all for me. They stored my suitcase for the day and when I came back in the evening they stored my tote bag while I had a delicious dinner in the wonderful oval dining room. The restaurant manager took time to escort me right to the waiting area in the train station. They really made me feel safe and welcome on my first visit to Winnipeg.

A step back in time The hotel was within easy walking distance to the Forks, the Manitoba Museum, great dining at Bailey’s and Hy’s. We thoroughly enjoyed the elegant Oval Room in the hotel, even dined there twice. The sunset margarita, oysters, golden eye appetizer, salmon and the lemon tart were exceptional. Fran and Michele, our servers made our meals memorable with their fantastic service. Our room had caste iron bed frames which I had not seen in decades. The mattress and the pillows were so comfortable! The bathroom had been remodeled. Ask for a complimentary refrigerator for the room. It kept our beverages so cold. There was a Keurig in the room. On several floors were refillable bottle stations. Complimentary coffee was available in the lobby every morning from 6-10. Valet and self parking were available. Kudos to housekeeping for keeping the room so clean.
