Old hotel but it worked Look - yes, it's an older hotel. Not sure if there better options in Rapids, but I doubt it. If you're looking for a 5 star experience, this isn't it, but it's not as bad as many of the recent reviews. Our room was older, but clean. I really liked the indoor pool area, harks back to a different era, kind of nostalgic. Had an outdoor area to get some sun too. The breakfast was homemade, better than a typical buffet. Location made everything walkable, a couple bars we liked and the Rafters baseball game. They did tack on a $10 charge to what I was quoted by Orbitz. I asked, she said it was for internet, parking, the breakfast - fine but should have been disclosed. The hotels best days were clearly decades ago but all in all it did the job

Worst hotel experience Worst stay ever! First our room keys did not work, then after unpacking, the air conditioner didn’t work. We got a new room on the opposite side of the hotel and had to squeeze 4 people in a king bed because it was all they had. When we went to switch to double queen the next night, they gave us keys to someone else’s room! We went back down, got a new room and the air wouldn’t even turn on! Finally, they found a room for us with a working air conditioner. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and my wine had dead bugs in it. Thankfully they took that off the bill. The manager did little to compensate the terrible stay. I definitely tried and she still made us pay for the stay. We would never stay here again!!

Price Gouging and bad service We made a wedding block of 25 people for a $20 discount. My aunt was looking at online sites and discovered they could get the same rooms for $70 off. She called the hotel thinking it was a mistake and asked if true, what was the point of the reservation blocks and why should they go through the hotel? The person laughed at her and said she shouldn't. When I called to express my displeasure, I had to try three times, then when I did get a person, she hung up on me.

Never Again!! We stayed here as a team for a large state level softball tournament. We were trying to stay at a place together as a team that had a fun, safe, clean environment. We were return customers for a softball tournament that our large club with multiple teams always plays at. This place was not what we were hoping for or remembered! We called ahead to request an early check in due to game times during the normal check in time. We were told over the phone that they would accommodate early check in and our room would be ready at the time we requested. We were actually told that our room was already pre-assigned and was currently ready and waiting for us. When we arrived we were told that our room was not ready. We were told that it could be hours before our room was ready and that there was nothing the hotel management could do. Other people in our group had a confirmation for a 2 queen room and were given a 1 King room. Again, they were told that there was nothing the hotel management could do to fix the problem. When we finally got to check in, the room was dirty, the bedding had hair all over the sheets and pillows, the bathroom was dirty looking and run down. It took them another 45 minutes to send someone to our room to change the bedding. Luckily our game was delayed due to rain or we would have been late. Hotel management and staff were very unaccommodating and rude. The experience was very stressful and we will NEVER stay here again!

Stay anywhere but here! Filthy and run down. Broken furniture, dirty carpets, layers of dust on walls and bed skirts. Shower had soap residue from the prior stay. The whole place smells like an air freshener covered ashtray. Will never stay again. Unknown splatter on the wall. Just gross.
