As an African American I would not return to this hotel I've always liked this brand it's usually pretty dependable. I would not stay at this particular location again. I arrived in a very nice summer outfit. I'm 57 years old and was dressed appropriately. When I checked in I checked in at the same time Asian family. They inquired about pool hours and were told, "our who is great it, she provided the times and told them to enjoy the pool and that they could swim before breakfast or after breakfast but just enjoy. I checked in and acquired about the pool time. The same clerk said, "Oh, you plan on using the pool?" I said yes I do. She said well it's Saturday so you going to need to have this blue wristband on to enter into the pool area tomorrow. Keep in mind the Asian family was not given the same blue band. There's a sign there that says on Fridays and Saturdays first guest are required to have a blue band on if they're in the pool area. The next morning when I went swimming, I was the only one in the entire facility with a blue band. I also happened to be the only African American there. There were caucasian families. Additionally, I asked for a late check out when I called to book, when I arrived at the hotel, and before I went to bed. I found myself when I got ready to go to the pool locked out of my room because there was no check out input. If I had not left to go to the pool someone would have came in my room to clean up because I was in the next room on the floor for cleanup. Sometimes you don't want to sense what you're sensing, but it's best to follow your spidey sense because it was what it was discriminatory. I did not feel welcome and it was very disappointing because I've been staying at the IHG brand for years

Great Hotel on the Suburbs of Detroit! Are family loved this hotel! The room was very nice and spacious! The amenities are also very nice. It was also very nice because the hotel had water and cookies in the lobby for guests! The room we had was very nice and perfect for a family! We stayed here because it’s only about 20 minutes away from the Detroit tigers stadium and we stayed here for the game! It is perfect hotel if you want to go into the city for the day!

Excellent 3 day trip Arrived at this hotel for a 3 day stay and Vicki, the hotel manager checked me in. Vicki was friendly, polite and informative. She was really professional and took pride in the hotel. They have chocolate chip cookies available and offered a plentiful breakfast. Rooms were pretty spacious and the beds were comfortable. Impressive cable package. Hotel pool was busy and active each night. If i was going to stay near Detroit. I'd stay here again.

No hot water and a crazy manager I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the Holiday Inn Express in Woodhaven, MI. Vicki, the General Manager, was incredibly rude and dismissive when I voiced my concerns about our hot water not working. Her response was shockingly unprofessional as she told me, "This is my hotel, and if you don't like it, you can call God to complain." I was taken aback by her lack of respect and empathy. As a paying guest, I expected hot water, better customer service and a more accommodating attitude. Such a response is not acceptable in the hospitality industry. I hope the ownership takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue with their staff to ensure a more pleasant and respectful guest experience in the future.

Smelly beds Booked for one night but couldn't even sleep there. Left at midnight and drove home to sleep. We still got charged for the room of course. The beds, especially one of them, smelled of sweat and feces and the smell got into my clothes. Room and beds looked clean but we could not take the smell. Worst hotel experience I've ever had. Emailed the hotel and just got one of those "sorry you didn't like it" responses but no offer to reimburse or credit us.
