Quiet Place to Stay I went to RI for my brother's wedding this past weekend. It is a very clean, quiet and friendly B&B. Breakfast was delicious and conversation with Alice was great as well. I met and spoke with Corinne who is extremely pleasant and friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

Retreat from the Heat We stayed at the Pillsbury House over the July 4th break, while visiting the area's various Industrial Revolution sites relating to both my wife's Quebec heritage and my Derbyshire England background. In 34 C weather our beautifully decorated - and air-conditioned - room was a welcome retreat to sleep. The provision of iced tea and chilled water in the guest fridge was very much appreciated. Alice, who made our breakfasts, gave us a warm Rhode Island welcome, and shared stories of her British grandmother, an early women's soccer player who emigrated to the US. The food was healthy and sustaining. The Pillsbury House is on a very quiet street in a lovely neighbourhood with many century homes. With its high ceilings, the home has an airy feeling. Sitting outside on the deck and drinking tea in the evening, we were treated to 4th of July fireworks near and far. I would highly recommend this B & B, and, for those who like to bicycle, the 11 mile path along the Blackstone River is a great way to explore the region, its mills and other buildings of historical significance. The Slater Mill in Pawtucket and the Museum of Work and Culture are must sees in the area, the latter especially if you are of French Canadian background. The people of Rhode Island are genuine, friendly and interested to talk to travellers, such as ourselves from near Ottawa, Ontario. The drive to Rhode Island for us took us through Vermont and New Hampshire. The floating bridge in Brookfield and the Montpelier are two recommended stop offs in Vermont. Thank you Pillsbury House for your retreat from the heat Mark & Isabelle

Comfortable B&B We stayed at this B&B for one night on a short trip to New England. We chose this B&B primarily for the price which was very affordable especially considering it was Memorial Day weekend. We arrived a little later than we expected but had called ahead to let them know and it was no problem at all. The B&B is is a quiet residential neighborhood but is a short drive from local restaurants. There is ample parking near the preferred side entrance. The driveway is on the right side of the building. The rooms are upstairs and the building being from 1875 there is no elevator. If stairs are a problem for you, do not choose this place. Our room was clean and comfortable. There was a 5-place USB charger in the room and an individual air conditioning unit with a remote control. There was no TV in our room. The bathroom is small which is typical of B&Bs. The vanity sink is just outside the bathroom in the bedroom. The bed linens are top of the line and very comfortable. The window shades do let in light and cannot be fully blacked out. Breakfast was excellent. We have some food restrictions and there was no problem in accommodating our needs.Breakfast consisted of a nice fruit cup, a lemon scone, and waffles with sausage. Coffee and juice were also provided (tea was available for those who prefer it). Alice prepared the meal perfectly. It was only a short stay but we enjoyed the company of the other guests at breakfast. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

Wonderful! It was near perfect. The neighbor, the house, the rooms, the host, and Alice the cook topped it off, conversation, and excellent breakfast. I had a choice of rooms, the host explained which bed was soft and which was hard. I took the hard mattress and my sleep was great.
