Weird vibe, but no major problems This place was adequate in terms of all of the key requirements for a hotel. It was clean enough, rooms & amenities were as-advertised, and staff were friendly. Parking & accessibility were good. The location was easy enough to find, but it felt isolated. Once we were there, we felt like it was a long way back if you want anything to do at night. The large lobby area was either in a period of transition or was no longer used like it might have been in the past - it had seen better days. The same could be said for the room, which seemed like it hadn't been renovated or fitted with new furnishings in decades. It seemed like the place was understaffed during our visit. The main desk area didn't seem very secure while we waited 15+ minutes to see any employee there to check in and ask a few questions. Still, we don't have any major complaints. If we had spent a little more time there and took advantage of the lakefront or other amenities, we might have had a better experience, which is why this rating isn't so low.

A Lakefront Gem in the North Suburbs My family and I were in town for a birthday party and we were excited to see that this hotel was back up and running with some great renovations! They’ve added refrigerators and microwaves to the rooms and we really liked the new decor. I’m looking forward to coming back in the summer to really enjoy the updates to the beach as well!

Breathtaking views and top notch guest experience The new owners have improved this hotel and it really shows. They are showing that this will be a top notch destination. Adding fridges and microwaves in every room. Nolan's restaurant is absolutely amazing. And to top it all off, you have your own private beach! A beautiful site to see.

Great Hotel Right On The Lake I grudgingly went back to this hotel after a HORRIBLE experience several years ago. (I had a family function nearby or I wouldn't have). Anyway, there are new owners and boy does it show. The hotel is now spotless and the rooms clean and new. The service was great and you can't beat the view of the lake. The restaurant has changed, i think its called Nolan's and I was very pleasantly surprised. Great food... good drinks and professional service. The beach is beautiful and they told me that they recently did a big job putting it all back together. Anyway.... glad i went back....and I'll definitely be back again.

DO NOT TRUST THIS VENUE WITH YOUR MONEY! Our wedding was booked at this venue in 2020. The hotel canceled our event due to facility issues and we have never received our deposits of $7,000+ back. I have been trying to get this back for years. I have written confirmation from the hotel manager and event coordinator that we would be getting our money back, that the check was in the mail, and then silence. DO NOT TRUST THIS VENUE WITH YOUR MONEY!
