For plastic surgeons and other practitioners in New York City, liposuction is a marquee treatment. But despite its prevalence, people are still interested in learning
all about it and other similar treatments—even such basic questions as "What is liposuction?" Traditionally, the
cosmetic procedure involves a surgical incision from which fat deposits are sucked out through a cannula. Less invasive treatments are gaining more traction, though. During
lipo laser, for example, pads equipped with laser diodes are placed on the skin, which allows the laser energy to penetrate and shrink fat cells. Many who opt for these treatments are trying to get rid of stubborn fat deposits that exercise can’t seem to eradicate—hence the popularity of belly, arm, and chin liposuction.
