There are two levels of Avis rewards: Avis Preferred and Avis Preferred Plus. Both programs are free to join, but to reach Avis Preferred Plus status, there is an annual minimum spend to remain active.

Avis Preferred Plus
This is Avis’s elite-level loyalty program. You can join its ranks by renting 12 or more times or spending $5,000+ in a year. There are actually two levels in the Avis Preferred Plus club. Level 1 requires 12 rentals a year or $5,000 spent and level 2 requires 25 rentals a year or $7,000 spent.

Earning Avis Points
- Every rental adds a minimum of 100 points
- Receive 100 bonus points by completing a rental within three months of joining the program
Avis Preferred Members:
- Earn 1 point for every $1 spent on a qualifying car rental ($100 minimum)
- Earn 2 points for every $1 spent on accessories like GPS, SiriusXM Radio, child car seats and roadside assistance
Avis Preferred Plus Members:
If you’re an Avis Preferred Plus member, your points are calculated by how many rentals you’ve made within a calendar year.
- After 12 rentals or $5,000 spent:
- Earn 1.25 points per $1 on qualifying car rentals (100 minimum)
- 2.5 points per $1 on accessories
- After 25 rentals or $7,000 spent
- Earn 1.5 points per $1 on car rentals
- 3 points per $1 on accessories
How to Use Your Avis Points
Now that you've saved up your Avis points it's time to use them. Redeeming your points is simple and can go toward accessories, upgrades, and the entire car rental. Just sign in to your Avis account when making the reservation and all your Avis Preferred Points will be there to use.
How Much are Avis Points Worth?
Avis Rewards can be used on car rentals, upgrades, and accesories. Add-ons like accessories start at 250 points. Rewards days start at 700 points. They are grouped into four levels, based on the standard daily rate for your chosen rental dates, car class, and location. There are no blackout days.
